York DesignWeek 2020 is coming.
We have KaWildoscope ready to dovetail with one of the festival’s themes – Re-Wild!
The dates of our digital projections are Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October, 6pm – 9pm
As in the past, we work with our perennially favourite light projector and installation artist, Nick Walters, of Glastonbury, Shambala, Green Belt fame.
Fresh from successful ventures in Berlin and Rotterdam, Nick returns to York and is ready to base part of his bespoke illumination on recent New Visuality outreach art sessions, which have included creativity with school pupils from Sunderland and South Tyneside, and school pupils of York, as well as collaborations with elderly citizens of York ward, Heworth Without.
The whirling, kaleidoscopic light installation will be, as ever, in the window of the According to McGee gallery, Tower Street, York. (opposite Clfford’s Tower)
The source material is also from text art expressing hopes for the future shared as part of My Castle Gateway and My York Central.
The projections will be set up to be viewed through the window, booking not required.
