Light installation artist Nick Walters was fascinated by tweets created by Blueberry Academy learners, as well as by the nature of twitter itself. He built his installation around a bird cage, complete with origami birds, so that when the tweets were projected though it, the messages would refract through the birds and glitter ball, thereby radiating around the gallery and through the front window, beneath the black shadow of Clifford’s Tower. The tweets were created via an algorithmic interface on cutting edge kit Platform 46 created by interns from the University of York’s Interactive Media Department.
